Description
Now & Then: The Appalachian Magazine, Volume 07, Issue 02, published in 1990. The theme of this issue is Urban Appalachia. This issue explores the experiences of Appalachians in urban settings through essays, fiction, photography, music, and poetry that reflect migration, identity, and cultural adaptation. Addressing topics such as bluegrass music's evolution, burial practices among Appalachian migrants, urban growth, and the shifting contrasts between country and city life, it documents how Appalachian identity persists and changes within metropolitan contexts.
