Description
WE REPORT the findings of a case study where Depakote was prescribed for a 56-year-old female with Alzheimer's disease. Our results indicate that Depakote is significantly effective in reducing repetitive behaviors, anxiety (worry) and hostility (belligerence, hitting, yelling). The patient's willingness to cooperate improved, as did her mood. The use of Depakote as a platform for the treatment of agitation in nursing home patients should be considered.
