Description
Spectrofluorometric procedures were used to measure forebrain content of dopamine and norepinephrine in rats after either dorsolateral neocortical ablation, or combined neocortical-hippocampal ablations. The concentration of both of these catecholamines was significantly higher in the ablated rats than in uninjured control rats. However, there was no difference between the rats receiving only neocortical lesions and the rats with combined lesions on this measure.
