Short Abstract

There are limited studies on how estrogen loss impacts the aging heart over a continuous lifespan. This study examines how estrogen loss on cardiac structure and function in aging female mice. Our results show significant changes in cardiac hypertrophy and function with age and estrogen status. This work highlights the impact of prolonged estrogen loss in the aging female heart. Last, this work was a collaborative project with 25 undergraduate students and we will share a model for research.
