Description

Now & Then: The Appalachian Magazine, Volume 08, Issue 02, published in 1991. The theme of this issue is Family and Community. This issue addresses the complexities of family and community life in Appalachia, including investigations into family violence, crime rates, grassroots leadership, and rural social networks. Through articles, profiles, and creative works, it considers how systems of kinship, mutual obligation, and local advocacy shape both vulnerability and resilience within Appalachian communities.
