Now & Then: The Appalachian Magazine, Volume 01, Issue 01, published in 1984. The inaugural issue introduces the mission and activities of the Center of Excellence for Appalachian Studies and Services while showcasing the region's cultural vitality through scholarship, archival work, and creative expression.
