About This Journal

Social workers are vital to the healthcare and social infrastructure in the United States. They are on the front lines in healthcare, behavioral health, child welfare, school, and many other settings working with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. An interdisciplinary team approach has gained more attention in these settings in recent years. Educational programs are training professionals in a variety of disciplines on interprofessional collaboration that holistically addresses the needs of the person while resulting in better outcomes. The Journal of Interprofessional Practice with Social Work provides an open forum that allows all professionals an opportunity to convey their innovations across disciplines to share collaborative models and expand the evidence base of interprofessional practice that incorporates social work. Our goal is to promote interdisciplinary work and disseminate valuable information.
