IMPACT OF TANDEM TRAFFIC IN LARGE SCALE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS.
A mathematical procedure for computing the average number of tandem links per call is developed. An argument which relates the portion of offered traffic actually carried by the network to that portion of traffic which must traverse more than one link in order to reach its destination is presented.
