Abstract
The ETSU Department of Art & Design and Slocumb Galleries in partnership with the Johnson City Public Library and AROHA Philanthropies present Artful Aging: Birds & Sculptures, curated by Angelique Lynch. The exhibition will be on display through September 15, with an artist's reception on September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Artful Aging workshop participants created the mixed media sculptural birds and various avian forms, mentored by ETSU adjunct faculty Angelique Lynch, using various techniques in molding, casting, carving, and assemblage. Lynch is an ETSU alumna who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Studio Art, with concentration in Sculpture, from the Department of Art & Design.
The Artful Aging programs inspire and enable older adults to learn, make, and share the arts in ways that are novel, complex, and socially engaging.
The Slocumb Galleries are located at 232 Sherrod Drive, on the ETSU campus. For more information on the exhibit please contact gallery director Karlota at contrera@etsu.edu.
