Abstract
Along the Horizon: Contemporary Drawing in Tennessee curated by Extended Media professor Vanessa Mayoraz and Drawing professor Andrew Scott Ross is concurrently on display at the Slocumb Galleries and the Reece Museum through February 23, 2018. There will be a panel discussion February 15 at 5:30-6:30pm in the Ball Hall auditorium. Speakers are Stephen Wicks, Curator at the Knoxville Museum of Art, Richard A. Lou, Chair of the Department of Art and Design at the University of Memphis, and Denise Stewart-Sanabria, Artist. An artists reception will be held on February 15 from 7-8pm at the Reece Museum. The exhibition focuses on artists living in, or from Tennessee, who consider drawing a substantial part of their contemporary practice using a wide range of methodologies.
