Abstract
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to analyze four types of doctoral field experiences, namely mono-based, dyad-based, triad-based, and multi-based, to determine their feasibility and effectiveness in the preparation of educational administrators and supervisors. Taken in sequential order the four types of field experiences place one doctoral intern in a school system, pair two doctoral interns, pair two doctoral interns with a university professor or refer to three or more doctoral interns in educational administration or supervision assigned to a field station for the purpose of on-the-job training and interaction.
