We Survived an Institutional Repository Migration, and You Can Too!

Jenny Tolbert, University of South Florida St. Petersburg

Description

Institutional Repository Migration is a great opportunity for reflection, planning and growth. But, for a small regional campus with limited staff and programming experience, it can be a ulta-marathon of an experience. There are many tiny steps, and often many detours along the way to a bright, shiny future. In the Fall of 2016, Nelson Poynter Memorial Library embarked upon this change, and switched from a homegrown instance of DSpace to a full-service model provided by bepress. This presentation will share our experiences, some of the things we wish we'd known, as well as tips picked up along the way.
