Abstract

An exhibition of black and white photographs entitled “Home & Family” will be on display at the Slocumb Galleries beginning Monday, July 24 - Friday, August 25, 2017. The Artful Aging workshop participants created these original photographs in 8 weeks of study with Katie Sheffield, ETSU Visual Resources Curator, using film-based darkroom developing and printing techniques.

Artful Aging is a unique arts education opportunity, which brings adults 55 and up together with professional teaching artists. The opportunity allows older adults to learn, make, and share art in ways that are novel, complex, and socially engaging.

An artists reception will be held on Thursday, August 17th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Slocumb Galleries are located at 232 Sherrod Dr., ETSU Campus. Open Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Extended hours during receptions and by appointment. All events are free and open to the public. For info, email SG director Karlota at contrera@etsu.edu or call/text 423.483.3179.
