Short Abstract

In this paper I conduct survey research of citizens from Tennessee to examine knowledge, practice and preferences related to public prayer before kickoff. In collecting responses from 658 Tennesseans, I find mixed results regarding the presence of and support for the practice. Interestingly, when dividing the state into east, middle, and west, the eastern region recalled such prayer at a higher rate of occurrence, and most were supportive of the practice of praying before or during the game.
