Short Abstract

Cardiac remodeling refers to changes in molecular and cellular features of the heart after injury. Increased cardiac remodeling leads to a poor prognosis and recovery after heart failure. This study examines how sex, estrogen loss, and aging impacts cardiac remodeling in male and female mice. Preliminary data show no changes in cardiac hypertrophy between male and female mice. Additional studies are needed to determine the impact on cardiac fibrosis and apoptosis.
